Creative Writing
The creative writing workshop is an 8 week programme meeting weekly for 1h30.The objective of the programme is to complete one full, polished piece of writing by the end of the course.
Ideally this will be a short story of around 10 pages double spaced, but students could also write pieces of comparable length, such as a 10 minute play, 4 or 5 poems or a chapter from a novel.
While we will talk about the literary merit of some short stories at the beginning of the course, participants should not feel as if they need to be experts in literary analysis, they just need to be excited and interested in writing. All critiques in the classes will be encouraging and supportive, definitely not critical and participants should not feel as if they need to have any experience in writing to join the course.
